On the Cellular Level:
Muscle Cells are long, multi-nucleated, usually striated, and has many mitochondria. This allows them to be able to contract and relax by being more stretchy and longer.
For the Tissues:
Cardiac Muscle- Involuntary muscle surrounding the heart. Can function without nerve impulses.
Skeletal Muscle- Long bundles of fibers. Voluntary. Controlled by nerve impulses stimulated by brain. It is the most abundant tissue in the vertebrate body. These muscles are attached to and bring about the movement of the various bones of the skeleton.Visceral Muscle - Aka smooth muscle, surround internal organs, which are involuntary. Made up of specialized cells that are able to contract and relax.
The Organs:
All of the muscles around the body can be affected by this.
